The whole piece sits on a whitewashed plank background that has gone silver with weather. The word CHRISTMAS runs across it in a tall ornate script in soft sea blue, with Welcome to and your family name set in warm sand gold above and below. Blue filigree scrolls into each corner. At the center there is a gathered spray of white blooms, pale blue greenery, winter berries and pearls, and sitting in the middle of it a starfish.

Nothing here fights a coastal room. The palette was taken from the shoreline first and the season second, which is why it reads as part of the house rather than something that arrives in a tote in November.

What You Put On It

Two fields. Your family surname runs across the bottom, and your established year sits to the right of the floral spray, balanced against EST. on the left. Use the year you married, the year you bought the place, or the year the family first came down to the water. Nobody else needs it explained.

Shorter names sit large and open. Longer names are set a little tighter so the whole surname stays on one line and stays readable from the far end of a porch. Send the spelling exactly as you want it printed and we follow it to the letter.

Honest About the Materials

The weathered plank background is printed artwork, not real wood. There are no boards, no grooves and nothing to warp, split or need refinishing. What you get is the look of a sign that has been on a porch for twenty years, with none of the upkeep real timber asks for.

Our signs are made of aluminum. There is no embossing, raised lettering, or engraved lettering on our signs. They are graphically printed to look as if they have those effects.

No. The driftwood plank background is printed. Tailor Made Rooms prints the weathered look onto canvas or onto 3mm aluminum composite, so you get the character of a salt worn sign without anything splitting or needing refinishing.

What size should I order?

Measure what it will hang above and aim for roughly two thirds of that width in artwork. Above a porch rail, a console or a mantel that usually lands at 30x15 or 36x18 inches. On a wide exterior wall, 42x21 or 48x24 inches holds the space properly. Cut the size out of painters tape and stick it up first, it costs nothing and it settles the question.

Does it arrive ready to hang?
