My name is Tammy Prebble, and I'm the designer and owner behind Tailor Made Barn Signs and Tailor Made Rooms Home Decor. If you'd told me five years ago that a single Easter decoration would transform into a thriving custom sign business serving customers across America, I'd have said you were dreaming.

But here's how it actually happened.

It Started with One Small Sign

I grew up in rural Michigan—true farm country where hard work and creativity went hand in hand. After spending over two decades in graphic design and marketing for corporations, I was raising my two daughters with my husband when 2020 changed everything.

My daughter Nicole, born with special abilities, has always had a gift for seeing joy in the simplest moments. Her trademark saying, "This is the life," became my north star—a reminder that happiness lives in the small things we create and the spaces we call home.

Like so many people, I needed a project during lockdown. One afternoon, I designed a Peter Rabbit sign for our mantel. I'd never decorated for Easter before, but I hung that bunny up, and it brightened our whole home during a long Midwest winter. I noticed my winter blues were uplifted and diminishing every time I looked at that bunny.

So I made another sign. Then another. Each one bigger, bolder, more creative than the last. I started experimenting with textures, playing with typography, pushing myself to build pieces that wouldn't just look good today—but would last for years and stand out with real design sophistication, not just generic text on a board.

One of my early designs featured Nicole's words: "This is the life." That sign reminded me why I was doing this—to create pieces that help people embrace change, find joy, and feel at home in their spaces.

That one small home decor piece turned into Tailor Made Rooms—and eventually grew into something much bigger.

The turning point came when a horse farm in the mountains found me online and ordered a custom entrance sign. That order opened my eyes to a whole new world: barn signs, farm entrance signs, ranch signs, cattle brand decor, and personalized outdoor signage for working operations.

But I quickly realized something important: everyone wants beautiful, meaningful signage for their space—whether it's a ranch gate in Texas, a lake house in Michigan, a beach cottage on the coast, or a modern farmhouse in the suburbs.

I design every piece myself, and my talented team helps bring them to life. We print in the USA and Canada because quality matters.
