How to Choose the Right Size
The simplest rule is proportion. A piece should span roughly two thirds the width of whatever it hangs above. Over a king bed that lands around 48 to 55 inches wide. Over a sofa, 42 to 48 inches. Over a console table or a nightstand, 20 to 30 inches.
Before you order, cut painter tape to the size you are considering and tape the rectangle on the wall. Live with it for a day. Most people size up after seeing the tape, because art that looks large on a screen reads small once it is actually on the wall.
For height, center the piece 57 to 60 inches from the floor, which is gallery eye level, and leave 6 to 10 inches between the bottom of the frame and the top of the furniture.
Canvas or Metal

They are graphically printed to look as if they have those effects. The same is true of the aged and distressed finishes you see in these designs. They are printed, not weathered, and not wood.

Printed graphics are UV resistant and hold their color for 5 to 10 years. Keep a canvas out of direct, all-day sunlight and it will hold longer. These are indoor pieces by design.
What sizes can I get?
It depends on the design. Some run from 12 by 8 inches up past 70 inches wide, others are built as long horizontal pieces for over a bed or a doorway. Each listing shows its own size ladder, and the price moves with the size.

Is this appropriate for a church, school or office?
It is, and a fair number of these go exactly there. For a larger room, size up further than you would at home. A fellowship hall or a sanctuary wall can carry a piece well past 60 inches without it looking oversized.
