A Cowboy Santa With the Horse Already Packed
He is on his feet beside a dark horse, both of them side on, snow coming down steadily around them. He has a vest pulled over the red coat, white fur at the cuffs, gloves on, and the horse is carrying a full load of bags and bedroll strapped down behind the saddle. Nobody is mounted and nobody is moving. It is the pause before the next leg, rendered in a warm oil style with the snow suggested rather than picked out flake by flake.

The falling snow and the muted palette make this the most wintry piece in the set without leaning on a single holiday cue. There is no tree, no sleigh and no sack of gifts on show, so it works from the first cold week straight through to the thaw. Good over a mantel, a console, a bed or a bar.

Questions About This Western Santa Canvas
Is this a Christmas piece or a winter piece?
Both, and that is deliberate. Tailor Made Rooms kept the holiday cues down to the red coat, so the painting carries the whole cold season rather than just December.
What is the horse carrying?
Packs and a bedroll strapped down behind the saddle. Tailor Made Rooms designed him as a man working a long route with an animal that does half the carrying, which is where the western character comes from.
Should I choose the black frame or the white one?
Black sharpens the dark horse against the falling snow. White leans into the cold pale light and suits a bright room. Both are solid wood and both ship ready to hang.
Can I hang it on a porch or outdoors?
No. Canvas is an indoor material, and snow in a painting is very different from snow on a wall. For a covered porch or an exposed wall, our printed 3mm aluminum composite signs are the right product and they live on the metal sign pages.
Does it arrive ready to hang?
Yes. Mounting hardware comes attached and leveling bumpers are included.
