Surf Wall Art That Says Where You Surf

Most surf decor is generic. A wave, a board, a word. This one carries your name, your town and the year, so it reads like a shop that has been on that corner for years rather than something ordered online.

The artwork is laid out like an old shop front: the family name across the top, SURF SHOP in big type with a shark through the middle, daily board rentals and surf lessons along the edges, and the town and state underneath. Everything in that layout is yours to change.

Canvas or Metal, and Where Each One Belongs

Canvas is indoor only. A 1.5 inch gallery wrap on a wooden frame, semi gloss, wire and felt pads already attached. This is the one for a bedroom, a nursery, a hallway or a beach house landing.

Metal goes indoors or outdoors. Aluminum composite, rigid and weather resistant, which is why it holds up on a porch wall, a fence line or the outside of an actual shop. It ships with stand offs for mounting.

Coastal Wall Art Sizes

Questions About This Surf Decor Sign

What can I personalize?

The family or shop name, the city, the state and the year. Those four lines are what make it yours. Tell us what you want on each one when you order.

Does this work as surf nursery decor?

It is one of the best uses for it. Hung above a crib or a changing table, the canvas version turns a plain nursery into a surf nursery in one piece. Put the year of birth on it instead of a shop year and it stays meaningful long after the crib is gone. It also makes a baby shower gift that nobody else will have thought of.

Can this beach wall art go outside?

The metal one can. Aluminum composite is made for outdoor signage, so a porch, a fence, a pool house or the front of a shop is all fair game. Canvas is indoor only and will not survive weather.

Is the wood real?

No, and that is on purpose. The weathered plank look is printed, so the surface is smooth and flat. You get the look of a salvaged board without the splinters, the warping or the weight.

Would this work in a real surf shop, not just a bedroom?

Yes, and plenty go that way. At the larger sizes in metal it works as retail signage behind a counter, over a board wall or outside above the door. Same artwork, same personalization, just scaled up.

How does it hang?

Canvas arrives wired and ready to hang with felt pads on the back. Metal ships with stand offs, four to six on most sizes and eight on the largest, which hold it off the wall slightly and give it a bit of shadow.

Do I see it before it prints?

Yes. Personalized orders get a proof to approve first. Nothing goes to print until you have looked at your name, your town and your year and told us it is right.
