Choosing Your Size

Because this is a two to one panoramic, size by width rather than by area. Above a standard three seat sofa, 48x24 or 55x28 is the right call. Over a headboard, match roughly two thirds of the bed width, which usually means 42x21 for a queen and 48x24 for a king. For a hallway, a bench or a console, 24x12 to 36x18 is the comfortable middle, and the 16x8 is a shelf or a narrow stretch of wall.

Hang it at eye level, centered 57 to 60 inches from the floor, and leave 6 to 10 inches between the top of any furniture and the bottom of the piece so the two read as one group. With a panoramic that gap matters more than usual, because the shape draws a horizontal line and a mismatched gap shows.
