Five square sizes from 10 by 10 inches up to 36 by 36 inches, ready to hang out of the box.

Most Santa art is red velvet and sleigh bells. This one is wearing brush camo with a fur collar, wire rim glasses pushed up his nose, one glove still on. He looks like he has been out since before light and has somewhere to be.

The Painting

The coat and hat are rendered in a broken grass and timber camouflage, the kind that disappears against cover in November. Against it, the beard reads almost white, and that contrast is what carries the piece across a room.

It is painted in a scumbled oil style, with visible brushwork in the fur and the folds rather than a flat digital finish. The background goes nearly black, so the face and beard hold the light. On a log wall or beside a stone chimney, that darkness is what makes it sit properly instead of floating.

The expression is the part people respond to. He is not jolly and he is not stern. He is amused about something and not telling.

Where It Belongs

This is lodge art that happens to be a Santa. It suits a hunting cabin, a deer camp, a basement bar with antlers on the wall, a man cave, or a den that already has a rifle rack and a leather chair in it.

Because the palette is browns, greys and bone rather than Christmas red and green, it does not shout December. Plenty of people leave this one up year round and only notice it is a Santa when a guest points it out.

It also solves a genuinely hard gift problem. The hunter who has everything is a fixture of every Christmas list, and there is only so much camo drinkware a person can own.

Black Frame or White

The canvas sits inside a float frame with a shadow gap around it, so the piece appears to lift off the wall rather than sitting flat against it. Both colors are the same frame in a different finish.

Black is the one in most of the photographs and the safer pick for a cabin. Against log walls, dark timber or stone it anchors the piece and echoes the near black background of the painting itself.

White is the one to choose on a painted or plaster wall, or anywhere the room is already light. On a pale wall a black frame can read heavy, where white keeps it gallery-like and lets the camo browns do the work.

Choosing a Size

It is a square, so it behaves differently from a landscape piece. A square fills a narrow wall, a chimney breast or the space between two windows, where a wide canvas would fight the architecture.

Over a mantel or a sofa, 24 by 24 or 36 by 36 holds its own. On a cabin wall beside a mount, 16 by 16 sits companionably without competing. In a hallway or a small den, 10 by 10 and 14 by 14 read as a framed picture rather than a statement piece.

What Arrives

✔ The camo Santa portrait on gallery quality canvas in a float frame

✔ Five square sizes, 10 by 10 inches up to 36 by 36 inches

✔ Black or white frame

✔ Ready to hang, with mounting hardware already attached

✔ Leveling bumpers included to protect the wall

✔ Semi gloss finish on a beveled wood stretcher, stapled tight

✔ Printed with fade resistant, water based, solvent free inks

✔ Made to order in North America

✔ Free shipping to the USA and Canada

Questions About This Camo Santa

Is this an original painting?

No. It is a print of a digitally painted original, produced on gallery canvas. The brushwork you can see is in the artwork itself rather than raised on the surface.

Does it come ready to hang?

Yes. The mounting hardware is already attached and leveling bumpers are included to keep it straight and protect the wall. There is nothing to assemble.

Should I pick the black frame or the white?

Black on log walls, dark timber or stone, which is most cabins. White on a painted or plaster wall, or any room that is already light. The photographs show both in the same room so you can compare them directly.

Can I leave it up all year?

Plenty of people do. The palette is browns, greys and bone rather than red and green, so it reads as lodge art first and Christmas art second.

Is it really square?

Yes, all five sizes are square. That is deliberate. A square works on the narrow walls a cabin tends to have, between windows, or on a chimney breast, where a wide canvas does not fit.

What size should I get?

Over a mantel or a sofa, 24 by 24 or 36 by 36. On a cabin wall next to a mount, 16 by 16. In a hallway or a smaller den, 10 by 10 or 14 by 14. Cut the square out of painters tape and stick it on the wall first, it settles the question in a minute. The size refers to the canvas inside the frame, so the finished piece is a little larger.

Is this a good gift for a hunter?

It is the reason the piece exists. It is not another camo mug, it is something that goes on the wall and stays there.

NOTE: Measure your space carefully with a tape measure.
